Artist Ron Pomeroy
I paint original, funky and lively art created with paint and either beer, whiskey or wine! How did I begin this unusual and pioneering approach?
I began painting watercolors as a hobby during the 1980’s. Once in 1986, when my water container needed to be changed, I substituted beer since I was drinking one at the time, it was handy and I was involved in my painting. Frankly, I was also too lazy to take a break. I truly liked the results so I have never since used water when creating my paintings. In 2013, I added wine to my palette (WineDesigns™). Since early 2016, sometimes as a change of pace, I paint with whiskey.
Historically, when asked why I continue to paint with beer or wine, I have usually replied “because I like craft beer and fine wine” (which is true) but it is also about having fun and painting unique, vibrant art. As an artist, I have found when I joyfully explore my own creativity, my art is always more engaging and captivating to others.
I share my award-winning art with you in the hopes you find as much joy in viewing and owning my pioneering artwork as I have had in it’s creation.
