Todays Funky Favorite: Valley Morning

Valley Morning is a minimalist painting offered to provide a feeling of the freshness of newly fallen valley morning snow-a combination of exhilaration and peace. Valley Morning is also interesting when turned upside down. Valley Morning was painted with a 2011 A to Z Pinot Noir from A to Z Vineyards in Newberg, Oregon.

Enjoy the refreshing feeling of your own Valley Morning and the discussion it sparks and order your own limited edition print today by going to the Shop Our Art section, clicking on the Modern and Abstract category, then on the Valley Morning image and follow the prompts through checkout!

Todays Funky Art Favorite: Field of Flowers

Painted in a post-impressionism style, Field of Flowers is defined by the space above the field. The Field of Flowers itself is fertile, crowded and full of activity. The space above is devoid of distractions. This limited edition print can be seen as an analogy for escaping mental busyness and quieting one’s mind or it can be simply seen as a literal Field of Flowers. Upside down, Field of Flowers can also be seen as a snow bank in a heavy snowstorm by a lake. If viewed standing on your head…. please consult your therapist for other interpretations.

Field of Flowers was painted with a Bridgeport Hop Czar IPA, Bridgeport Brewing Company in Portland, Oregon. Order your Field of Flowers now by going to the Shop Our Art section, clicking on the Modern and Abstract drop down category, then on the Field of Flowers image and follow the prompts through checkout !

Todays Funky Art Favorite: Night School

This fanciful school of fish was named Night School because all of the fish have white eyes and the background is dark. None of these funky Night School fish are wearing lipstick (as some of my fish are prone to do) as during the school week they aren’t allowed to act out. Each Night School fish must firmly obey the rules of the educational system in which they learn and swim. After all, one does not want to be regarded as being a fish out of water!

Night School was painted with a 2010 Pascal Pibleau Gamay Touraine from Azay Le Rideaux in France. Go with the flow and order your funky Night School limited edition print now by going to the Shop Our Art section, clicking on the Modern and Abstract drop down menu, then on the Night School image and follow the prompts through checkout!

Todays Funky Art Favorite: Midnight in the Field

Midnight in the Field is a photographic negative image of Tsunami of Fire and Mist turned on its right side.  When displayed as shown, Midnight in the Field creates a feeling of lying on your back and stargazing but, of course, it can be displayed in other positions to provide a different experience.

Midnight in the Field was created with 2010 Alexieli Pinot Noir from Alexieli Vineyard and Winery in Molalla, Oregon. Order your limited edition print of  Midnight in the Field by going to the Shop Our Art section, clicking on the Modern and Abstract drop down category and then clicking ton the Midnight in the Field image and following the prompts through checkout!

Todays Funky Art Favorite: Tsunami of Fire and Mist

Tsunami of Fire and Mist is intended to reflect the provocative interplay and potential harmony between fire (passion) and water (restraint). Despite some duality, both require oxygen (life-energy) to exist. Tsunami of Fire and Mist is intended to imply the power of both elements and the potential ability of either to overpower the other. The mist of sparks in Tsunami of Fire and Mist arises from occasional conflict that accompanies the life-sustaining waves.

Tsunami of Fire and Mist was painted with a 2010 Alexieli Pinot Noir from Alexieli Vineyard and Winery in Molalla, Oregon. Order your limited edition print of Tsunami of Fire and Mist today by going to the Shop Our Art section, clicking on the Modern and Abstract drop down category and then on the Tsunami of Fire and Mist image and follow the prompts through checkout!

Todays Funky Art Favorite: Iris and Bamboo

Iris and Bamboo is an image of restfulness and reverie. This painting provides a peaceful feeling due to the amount of unpainted space, use of symbolism and simplicity of style and content. Iris and Bamboo is reminiscent of the respectfulness and patience of Asian art and, somewhat, also a bit suggestive of calligraphy strokes. The photographic negative of Iris and Bamboo, Night Garden, is also elegant while displaying an entirely different color combination.

Iris and Bamboo was painted with a 2011 elemental cellars Pinot Gris from elemental cellars in Dallas, Oregon. Order your limited edition print of Iris and Bamboo today by going to the Shop Our Art section, clicking on the Modern and Abstract drop down category and then following the prompts after clicking on the Iris and Bamboo image!

Today’s Funky Art Favorite: Kayaks

This simple painting of stacked Kayaks represents the promise of adventure as the Kayaks sit inert on top of each other, each waiting for action, dependent upon humans to engage them in the mobility for which they were crafted. When hung counterclockwise, I am told the Kayaks resembles bamboo shoots. Order Kayaks now and use your imagination as to how you choose to enjoy this playful limited edition print!

Kayaks was painted with a Firestone Double Barrel Ale from Firestone Walker Brewing Company in Paso Robles, California.

You can buy your limited edition print of Kayaks by going to the Modern and Abstract drop down category under Shop Our Art, clicking on the Kayaks image and then following the prompts through checkout!

Today’s Funky Art Favorite: Dancing Daisies

These funky, fun-loving Dancing Daisies are having a good time. Since they are always in the garden, they are having a raucous garden party. The Dancing Daisies live in the present and enjoy life since they have very little influence over their own destiny. This fanciful WineDesigns™ limited edition print was painted with an excellent 2007 Artisanal Pinot Noir red wine from Artisanal Wine Cellars in Dallas, Oregon.

Today’s Funky Art Favorite: Spirals

Spirals is a playful, vivid painting with numerous potential interpretations. I pictured Spirals in my mind as a large, funky and whimsical display when I painted it with a 2009 Estate Pinot Noir from St. Josef’s Winery. The owners of the winery are a happy couple with great joi de vivre. Their joyful spirit permeates their wine and, I hope, also my Spirals painting-which can be displayed at any desired angle.

Spirals was painted wit an 2009 St. Josef’s Estate Pinot Noir from St. Josef’s Winery in Canby, Oregon.
