Color Reversed Wood Stork

The acrobatic Wood Stork has been listed as an endangered species since 1984. It is the only stork found in the United States. It has a beak measuring up to 9 inches long with a body slightly over 3 feet in height. Living in wetlands, it nests high in trees. Both parents incubate the eggs and feed the young. This large wading bird is also characterized by a bald head and a 5 foot wingspan. This painting is taken from a photographic negative image; hence the title, Color Reversed Wood Stork.
