Todays Featured Funky Art: Night School

Today’s featured piece is Night School (shown at left). This fanciful, funky school of fish was named Night School because all of the fish had white eyes and the background was dark. None of these funky fish are wearing lipstick (as some of my fish are prone to do) as during the school week they aren’t allowed to act out. Every fish must firmly obey the rules of the educational system in which they learn and swim. After all, one does not want to be regarded as being a fish out of water!

A 2010 Pascal Pibleau Gamay Touraine wine from Azay Le Rideaux, France was used in painting this work. To buy Night School, just go to our Shop Our Art section, click on the Modern and Abstract section then on the Night School image and follow the prompts. Enjoy!!

Some Funny Stuff

453W night school web1000We can all use some funny quotes now and then to lighten our spirits. I found the following funny quotes on BrainyQuote (www.brainyquote.com), which I think you will enjoy:

“A day without sunshine is like, you know, night”–Steve Martin; “I hate housework! You make the beds, you do the dishes and six months later you have to start all over again!”– Joan Rivers; “Smoking kills. If you’re killed, you’ve lost a very important part of your life.”–Brooke Shields; and finally, a funny one that rings all too true, “The first time I sang in the church choir; two hundred people changed their religion”–Fred Allen.

Night School (shown above) portrays many funny fish laughing at these jokes. It was painted with a great 2010 Pascal Pibleau Gamay Touraine from Azay Le Rideaux, France.

Giclėe Prints: What Are They?

453W night school web1000I am sometimes asked about the giclėe printing process. The giclėe printing process is a cool digital age process which uses very specialized photography equipment to create highly detailed digital photographs which enhances the coloration in original artwork. As a consequence, the resulting giclėe prints are more vivid and detailed than the original painting.

A high resolution digital camera prints a digital file on high resolution printers that use archival inks.  The ink is then printed on archival giclėe paper that is specially made for archival use. The giclėe paper used by JDA Creative Services (www.jdapdx.com) for BeerColors™ prints is effectively rated at well beyond 80 years of life by the Wilhelm Institute-meaning that unless you plan to live well beyond the 21st century, none of our BeerColor™ prints will ever fade during your lifetime (nor probably during the lifetime of your grandchildren). Proper frames and ultraviolet glass will also assist in protection against any possible fading during the next century! In other words, giclėe is a process that preserves vividness of art decades longer than plastic surgery prevents wrinkles or painting a house protects it against the weather!

Night School, shown above, is a giclėe print that was painted with an excellent 2010 Pascal Pibleau Gamay Touraine (Azay Le Rideaux, France). Night School can be found under WineDesigns™ in our drop down menu under Shop Our Art. Prices start at $70.
