This colorful Bird Playing Volleyball painting combined enjoyment of birds, sports and the influence of Karel Appel’s works with an innate sense of the ridiculous. Allowing oneself to imagine what a playful bird would do for recreation, given human choices, resulted in this portrayal of an athletic bird enjoying a game of volleyball. Thinking outside of the box allowed permission for such funky frivolity.
Bird Playing Volleyball (shown above) was painted using a very good Deschutes River Ale from Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon. Bird Playing Volleyball may be purchased by going to the Modern and Abstract drop down category under Shop Our Art then clicking on the Bird Playing Volleyball image and following the prompts through checkout.
There were many favorable articles and reviews of BeerColors™ art last year for which we are very grateful. We were positively reviewed by Draft magazine, All About Beer, Craft Beer Critics, Oregon Beer Growler , The Canby Herald, The Portland Tribune, Tree Hugger and five or six additional publications located in three or four different countries, including Germany, India and the U.K..
A few days ago, Beers of the World (beers-mag.com) featured BeerColors™ in a full page article (page 22) which included a large photograph of our Bird Playing Volleyball and a “Buy” recommendation. The article is contained in Volume 27 of Beers of the World magazine, headquartered in Glascow, Scotland. The entire issue has 94 pages of great content and provides a vast amount of beer and beer-related information.
There are a large number of excellent beer and craft beer publications in the world. We are honored that one of the premier international beer magazines chose to include us in their latest issue.
You may have noticed that some new prints have been released in the last few days, including the Bird Playing Volleyball pictured at left. There are also three more new prints offered for sale, entitled Storm Over the Alps, Garden of Ideas and French Clown. As with all of our prints, they make great gifts for your friends, family, loved ones and also to just treat yourself with a gift of long-lasting fun, joy and as a conversation-starter.
Of course, all of these prints were painted with beer. The Bird Playing Volleyball was painted with Deschutes River Ale, brewed by Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon. This athletic bird currently graces the Brush Strokes Blog portion of our home page. In the bird world, this is similar to being placed on the cover of Audubon, Bird Life, Rolling Stone, GQ, Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan or some other popular magazine. No doubt Lady Gaga is jealous of this athletic bird!
The French Clown was painted with New Belgium Rolle Bolle, brewed by New Belgium Brewing Company in Ft. Collins, Colorado and Storm Over the Alps was painted with Bridgeport Brewing Company’s Witch Hunt, brewed in Portland, Oregon. Garden of Ideas was painted with Trumer Pils from Trumer Brauerei in Berkeley, California.
We hope you will enjoy all of these fun additions to our selection of prints!
