Artist Christopher Wool (1955-present)

687 Buenos Aires web HiDefArtist Christopher Wool was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1955 but now works in New York City and in Texas. Most often he paints large, silkscreened black stenciled letters on canvas but is also an author and black and white photographer. His 2004 book, entitled “East Broadway Breakdown” contains over 140 of his own photographs.

In 1988, Mr. Wool created “Apocalypse Now” which sold for $26.4 million dollars at a 2013 Christie’s auction. His Neo-pop “Riot” sold for $29.9 million dollars at a 2015 Sotheby’s auction.

Artist Judith Godwin (1930- present)

687 Buenos Aires web HiDefJudith Godwin was born in Virginia then moved to New York City in 1953. An abstract expressionist, Ms. Godwin studied with Hans Hofmann and attended the Art Students League. Her work is well regarded and has been influenced by her interests in gardening as well as architecture. Well traveled, Ms. Godwin has paintings in collections across the world.

Ms. Godwin lives in Manhattan, New York. She has also displayed and sold sculptures in addition to her paintings. Her work can be seen in the Museum of Modern Art, Chicago Art Institute, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and other prestigious museums and galleries.

Artist Theodoros Stamos (1922-1997)

687 Buenos Aires web HiDefBorn in Manhattan, Theodoros Stamos held his first solo exhibition at the Wakefield Gallery and Bookshop. Mr. Stamos taught art at several schools and is best known for his earth-tones with broad areas of color and slim lines and shapes. After 1971, all of his paintings were part of his “Infinity Field” series. His “Sounds in the Rock” was purchased by MOMA in 1946.
