Tomorrow is India Pale Ale Day!

663 Celebrate web HiDefLondon brewer George Hogson is credited with inventing India Pale Ale back in the 1700’s. At that time, it was difficult for beers to remain tasty during the long voyages of British sailors. Sensing the British could not continue to successfully rule the seas without access to better beer, Mr. Hogson created the process that sustained the taste and viability of beer which was then used in the important British trade route with India. India Pale Ale took its name from the color of the beer and the trade route to India. IPA’s remain a very popular type of beer over 3 centuries later! Hoist a toast to Mr. Hogson tomorrow in honor of his success!

Today is the International Day of Happiness!

663 Celebrate web HiDefToday is the International Day of Happiness as declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012!

The idea for the International Day of Happiness originated from the Kingdom of Bhutan whose residents are regarded to be amongst the happiest on our planet. While the idea may seem to some to be “Pollyannish”, what harm can be done by living large and celebrating life in a joyful manner? Perhaps our world could benefit from more such celebrations!
